Good afternoon, 

Homework for this evening are as follow; 

Reading: 15 min. minimum

Spelling: Review their spelling words if needed; the test is tomorrow.

Math: Complete ¨exercices supplémentaires 1¨ if not finished in class.

Tomorrow is Valentine`s Day, students who wish to give Valentine`s cards to their friends are welcome to do so. We will have some activities throughout the day to celebrate the Special Day. On the same token, there will be no homework on that special day. Joyeuse Valentin tout le monde!

The students of our school will be attending  the ¨Maw`iomi Celebration¨ at M.V.H.S. this Thursday. A permission slip was sent home with the students today. Please make sure that it is sign and return so that your child can participates to this trip. We will be leaving shortly around 9 a.m. and return to school at about 11:30.

Goog evening, 

Some students asked if they could exchange valentine cards on Wednesday. I am leaving it up to them. Therefore, I will be sending the class list for anyone who wish to exchange cards.  Further information will go home concerning St-Valentine`s activities for this week.

Good evening all, 

Tuesday will be a great day for our grade 5 Immersion students.  We will be going to Fredericton and visit few places. First, we are set to leave Gretna Green School between 9:00-9:15 am. Our first visit will be at the Legislative Assembly. They are expecting us for 12:00 pm.  Then, at 1:00 pm, we will be going to the Beverbrook Art Galery. A tour guide will be giving a tour of the galery in French. To finish off the trip,  we will be going to the Sports Hall of Fame for 2:00 pm. We should be leaving Fredericton by 3:00 pm therefore we should be back to Miramichi between 5:30 - 6:00pm. Mrs. Bransfield will be posting update on our school facebook page to let you know when we will be arriving.  There will be a $3.00 fee to visit the Sports Hall of Fame.  Please make sure that you send lunch/snacks for your child. There are no microwave available to heat up food.  I will be sending a permission slip with the students tomorrow. Please make sure that you sign it in order for your child to participate.

Homework for this week is as follow: 

Reading: Minimum 15 minutes (French guided reading book and personal reading from the classroom library. Two Reading Comprehension from the pass card system must be completed by Friday. Students that are eager to do more are encourage to do so. When twelve reading comprehensions with 85% acuracy are completed they can trade in their pass card for a special reward.

Spelling: The spelling words and assignment for this week will be the same as the one of last week. The test will be on Friday. For this week, the homework assignment will be about writing silly sentences with their words. Since there was two snow days last week, the spelling assignment will remain the same as it was last week. Make sure that all of your words are used. I will not expect (15) sentences but I entend to read at least seven to eight silly sentences. Please underline your spelling words from your list with the color of your choice.   Example: Mon chien porte une robe multicolore  quand il prend son bain.   «I am looking forward to read all of these silly sentences!»

Math: I have many multiplication games that students can bring home to practice their multiplication facts. Tomorrow, I would like to invite all of my grade 5 students for a Multiplication Bingo Game. They will be able to play Multiplication Bingo while having their lunch in class.

Homework for this week is as follow: 

Reading: 15 minutes minimum (guided reading book/book(s) from our classroom library). There are two reading comprehensions to be completed by Friday. The students will receive their reading compehension pass card tomorrow which will let them know how many reading comprehension have been completed.

Spelling: (In your «Jogging d'écriture») write all the words of your spelling list using a different color for each letter in each word.

Math: complete interaction multiplication facts of 3 (there are 2 differents games for the facts of 3)

Littératie: The students are learning how to say and write sentences in the past tense. We are working with the «Passé Composé», therefore it is important to know the verbs «être et avoir» in the present tense as they are being use as auxiliary to the verb. There will an evaluation Friday on the Passé Composé. This week, make sure that you revise your interactive verbs «être et avoir» in you jogging d'écriture as often as you can. You will also get an association game this week that will help you differentiate both conjugated verbs.

Reminder to Parents: Please check your child's homework envelop daily as evaluations are going home to be signed.
