The students in our class have been asking about exchanging gift through a «Secret Santa» activity. Tomorrow, I will be sending a note home to see if you want your child to participate in the Secret Santa activity. If so, they will have spend between five and ten dollars towards a gift that will be exchange with their Secret Santa on the last day of school before the Christmas Break. Meanwhile, they will be able to leave messages to their Secret Santa in our Santa`s mail box set in the classroom.

Have a great evening,

Bonne chance :)

Good ev everyone,

I was out for few months and now, I am quite happy to return to my students. I must say that I am going to enjoy every students in my class this year. They are cooperative and eager to learn.  I am certain that we will have an exciting and interesting school year. Just to let you know about homework; the boys and girls were quite happy to hear that in our grade 5 classroom there won`t be lots of homework to do every night as long as the work at school is completed. However, Reading is a must!  Every night, the students are expected to read a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes and complete their reading log (which will start next week). Spelling is being done at school.  We started "L`étude de mots" (Spelling) last week and our first test will be tomorrow.  I am really anxious to see how the kids will do. They seem to enjoy learning how to spell their words at the various stations set in the classroom. In Math, the students must complete the assign work given at the beginning of the math class and if not completed by the end of the day, it will have to be finish at home.  From time to time, they might have math homework in order to practice or re-enforce some of the Math concepts.  We began the unit on fractions and decimals. Therefore, at home, whenever you have a chance to re-enforce this concept through family activities such as  conversation, cooking, wrapping gifts... please do so; it can only help.  I would like to thank you for your cooperation and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
