Dear Parents and Guardians:
Re: Update for Gretna Green
I would like to thank you for your cooperation over the last few days as our school community dealt with the news of a possible exposure in our school.
Public Health has informed us that our school can welcome students and staff tomorrow, March 8th. If you have not been contacted by Public Health officials and requested to self-isolate, your child should return to school tomorrow.
Children and young people look to the adults in their lives to guide them on how to react to worrying and stressful events. Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about any anxieties and remind them to treat one another with kindness and respect, in person and on social media.
Public health is asking us to remain vigilant especially with the presence of variants that can be transmitted more easily. Please keep your circle of close contacts relatively small and continue to follow public health advice.
Active self-monitoring for COVID-19 is important. If your child develops symptoms, please keep them home, even if the symptoms are mild. Even if you or your child has tested negative, you can still become positive if you have been tested too early during the incubation period. Please get tested again if you or your child develops any symptom.
If you or your child is showing any symptoms of COVID-19, you should:
1. Register online for a test by clicking “Get tested” on the GNB corona virus website (www.gnb.ca/coronavirus), or
2. Contact Tele-Care 811, or
3. Contact your primary care provider.
The 811 operators or your primary care provider will evaluate you or your child before sending them for testing.
Thank you for helping keep our school, community, and province safe!
