We are happy to announce that our Pickle Ball courts are officially complete! This project could not have been possible without multiple levels of funding and support. We would like to thank our Gretna Green Cafeteria Board for contributing to another amazing project for our Gators. In addition, the city of Miramichi along with RDC were also major sponsors and without their support this project would not have been made possible. We also want to thank the Miramichi Pickle Ball Association for their support and guidance.
Congratulations to our middle level cross country runners who brought home the ASD-N XC Championship with the most points garnered from all district races, a first for Gretna Green runners! Siblings, Liam and Brianna got first place overall for their respective grades of 8 and 6 and Nick got first overall for grade 6 boys. A special thanks to Mme McQuaid-Murphy and Mr. Thomas for the excellent job coaching this winning squad!
Our annual school fundraiser kicks off on Monday, September 25th. All students will be given a home package to take home which will include all details regarding the fundraiser. It will be the same as a last year with the grand prize being a 1000.00 gas gift card! All funds raised will be straight back to our Gators for supporting school based inititiatives that will support their learning and positive experience at Gretna Green!
Another fall season of school sports has found us! We want to thank all of our coaches and volunteers who make our elementary and middle level soccer and cross country programs work. We couldn't do it without you! Reminder to all middle level players that there is a sports fee to participate in soccer. If this fee is unmanageable for you financially, please contact the school and arrangements will be made to accomodate your child. No players will be excluded if unable to pay the sports fee.
There will be a staggered entry for K and 1 students. The staggered schedule for K students was mailed to parents. For grade 1, students whose last names begin with the letters A-L will start on Tuesday, September 5. They will stay home Wednesday, September 6, and return to school Thursday, September 7.
The entire staff of Gretna Green School would like to remind all of you that our last day of school will be Friday, June 23rd. We would like to wish our grade 8 students all the best as they move onto grade 9 and welcome our kindergartners and new students who will be joining us in the Fall. Enjoy your summer holidays everyone and see you all soon!
Congratulations to our the actors in our school drama production, The Little Mermaid. The cast and crew did a fantastic job under the leadership of Ms. Bransfield and Mrs Barry. Special thanks to Mr. Duplessie for tech support. Well done everyone!
The entire Gretna Green School learning community would like to congratulate Ella for doing such a great job representing GG at the recent WE DAY held in St. John, NB. She was selected as one of the keynote speakers during this special event in front of over 7000 audience members. This was no small feat but Ella rose to the occasion and made us all very proud. Bravo Ella!
