April 15-19th

Posted: April 15, 2019

Welcome back! A reminder that April 19th is Good Friday and there will be no school.

*** Please ensure white homework binders are brought to school on Mondays for student’s weekly work and that reading bags are brought daily for notices, handouts, etc.***

French - We continue with our Family unit this week. Students will receive a family related book to read throughout the week. We will also incorporate an Easter theme as well progress through the week.

Guided reading will also take place with myself during our Daily 5. Whilst a group is reading, others will be working in various centers. Students will receive new book within a 4 day cycle to be brought home along with their new sound and song/poem sheet of the week. Please note that year end expectation for students is to be within the F-G-H range.

Math – We have been learning a lot about telling time the past 2 weeks in our Measurement unit. This week our focus will be on how to use a ruler and the difference between millimeters and centimeters. Next week, we will move on to measure perimeters. Please feel free to go to Learn Alberta website found in my web links to practice various outcomes. Math Reflex is also another great resource that students have been practice here at school.

Health - We will again continue to discuss emotions. What makes us happy, sad, etc.

Social Studies - We continue to discuss the province of NB. Students will located the major cities within the province, and make reference in relation to each other.

Science - Students will finalize their plant dictionary. We will move on to learn and label parts of a plant this week.

Please refer to our school website regularly for important information and postings. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at school. I will respond via phone call as promptly as I can. Let’s have a great week! Cheers :)
