March 20 - 24th

Posted: March 20, 2017

Welcome back to the first day of spring! A reminder to everyone that the 6, 7, and 8 FI students will be travelling to a Maple Sugar Bush in Paquetville this Thursday. Noticed were sent home last week and need to be signed and returned by Monday, March 20th.

French – This week students will be presenting their work from the past month. Grade 6 students will then commence an opinion text and a public service announcement, whereas the grade 7s will be learning about procedural writing, and the 8s an interview followed by an editorial. As always, writing traits continue to be taught throughout as well as grammar, verbs, conventions, homophones, guided reading, etc.

Math – Students will be learning about percentages this week. Next Monday - Wednesday will serve as a review of our unit. Unit test will be held next Thursday. From there, we will move on to graphing and geometry. Let me know as well if you wish to have any additional work for your child to complete at home. Refer for my "web link" for numerous math websites to practice at home.

Mathletics activities have been assigned to practice at school and at home. Feel free to browse what you son/daughter has completed to date. Students will be told in advance when Mathletics is assigned for homework

As always, if you have any questions, please contact me at the school. I will respond promptly via telephone. Let's have a great week at GG!
