Here we are! Thank you for checking in :). As we venture into our second week of home learning, I ask students to continue logging into their Mathletics and Dreambox accounts. Last week, I assigned our class review questions on representing numbers and estimating sums and differences. This week, I will be assigning new questions. The questions I assigned for this week on Mathletics are on multiplying with arrays. Please refer to the poster below and visit the link (https://www.youtube.com/embed/lRgKavUxvKY) for a simple lesson on multiplying with arrays before attempting your assigned questions on Mathletics. If students complete all the questions assigned on Mathletics and would like to continue mastering their mathematical thinking skills, please feel free to visit Dreambox (the Dreambox program advances students at their own level so please do not help them with any question :) , as well as check out the the “Play” section on Mathletics. I encourage students to practice their multiplication facts either virtually or through card games each day.
I also would like to remind students to be sure to have a pencil and paper on hand when finding solutions on Mathletics. The questions can be tricky, and it isn’t expected that students can do it all mentally. Be sure to work out your answers :). Students will notice that the Mathletics program will ask students to attempt the assignment again if they did not get all the questions correct. If students do not want to attempt the assignment again, they can click the “x” in the top right corner. Assignments will disappear from their “To Do” section once students get 10/10 of the questions correct :).
I so hope that we are all back together very soon. Please check in daily as I will post suggested math games throughout our week. We got this! I thank you for your continued support. This will be posted on "Mathematics 5" on students teams page, as well as our class FB page.
