WEEK OF JANUARY 16-20

Posted: January 13, 2012

LANGUAGE ARTS:  There has been a change to the way homework books will be sent home for the week.  Students are now taking their books home in colored folders.  It has their name on them along with a note about when they need to bring to book(s) back. SPELLING:  We are working on the "th" sound.  We sometimes call this the rude sound because it makes you stick your tongue out.  REMINDER:  students green home folders need to be returned the following day, homework binders are to be returned on Friday. MATH:  We have completed our unit on Representing numbers to 20.  We are now starting addition and subtraction to 12.  Last week we looked at different combinations to build numbers. We will be starting number stories this week.  NO EXCUSE WORDS:  These are words (25) that grade one students should know how to write in a snap.  I gave students a quiz on them this week and have sent home the results.  Please continue to practice them at home. COMMUNICATIONS LOGS:  These will be sent home on Friday and need to be returned on Monday.  Have a great week!
