Spelling:  This week we are looking at the word family id.  This is a new hard working vowel for students.  The past few weeks we have put to work our a and e but we thought we would give them a break and put the vowel i to work. Remembrance Day Service: This will be held next Next Thursday, November 10 at 10:30 Math:  Students are using dot cards and ten frames for counting.  We are talking about when it is easy for count and when it is hard to count.  Example Students who use dice a lot can recognize number configurations quickly from 1 to 6.  In kindergarten, students were introduced to 5 frames.  If they are solid in this, they are able to use this strategy to count to 10 faster.  Hint of the Week:  It is very important that students attend to punctuation in their reading.  If they do not stop at periods and exclamation marks or pause at comma's,  their reading can become confusing causing them to lose the meaning. Example:  "Come here, Dad," shouted Tom. "Look! Here is a plane." (correct way)                 "Come here Dad shouted Tom Look here is a plane (incorrect way)
