This week in Art class, the students learned about a magnificent artist by the name of "Wayne Thiebaud" (pronounced Tee-bow).  Mr. Thiebaud is famous for his realistic and colorful paintings of cakes, ice cream, lollipops and other yummy treats.  After watching a video (see below) our class was VERY excited to make our own "Thiebaud inspired" cakes!  We began with three different sizes of 3d cylinders and the students stacked them up from largest to smallest.  We then decorated the cakes with a variety of patterns and designs.  Check out our newest image gallery for a delicious treat for your eyes!!!Video on Mr. Wayne Thiebaud: http://msjuliesartistoftheweek.blogspot.ca/2009/06/wayne-thiebaud-1920-p...
