Roots of Empathy

Posted: June 4, 2009

We have been lucky enough to have a Roots of Empathy baby in our classroom this year.  His name is Nathaniel and his   parent’s names are Margaret and Graeme. It is very interesting learning about the stages that babies go through.  We have watched Nathaniel learn to roll over, crawl, stand up and walk.  He is a very curious baby and is always checking out new things in the classroom. During his last visit,  Nathaniel rearranged our classroom by pushing the chairs around!   One time, Nathaniel sat on Paige and Katie’s laps.  Lauren thought he was a king!  We all had a great laugh!  Nathaniel loves to try new things.  He tried plums for the first time and loved them!  He is eating a lot of different kinds of food now. We celebrated Nathaniel’s first birthday in May.  We made him a card and a book of nursery rhymes.  He got a new toy and tried cake for the first time.  There was cake EVERYWHERE!  We think that Roots of Empathy is a fantastic program.                                                                                      by Grade 2 Matheson  (Shared Writing)
