Our librarian Mrs. Chase, with the help of a group of "library cheerleaders", gave presentations about Australia to library classes recently, with the aim of encouraging students to discover new book topics. Thanks to Mrs. Chase and our cheerleaders for showing students how the library can open up new worlds to students.

On Friday, February 16, Gretna Green enjoyed a performance by Canadian children's entertainer Shelley Bean as part of the Canada 150 grant programme. Shelley performed for all grades, and the dynamic performance was thoroughly enjoyed by students and staff alike! Check out some of the pictures in our galleries.
Coaches Tom & Kim lead our Varsity Girls Basketball team to another Championship banner with a 42-37 win over MAA. The girls played exceptionally well and did an excellent job representing Gretna Green. Way to go Gators!!!
On February 7, our K classes participated in the Global School Day of Play. Children brought in non-electronic play items and practiced the art of creative play all day long! They were assisted by some visiting friends from other classes. Check out all the photos in the gallery!
Several GG students and classes were recognized at our January assembly.
Matty Lirette and Tyra Humphreys were chosen as Athletes of the Month. Emma Matchett and Alexis Allen were chosen as Students of the Month. Classes of the month were 2G and 4S. Special recognition went to Ben and Maxwell Steeves, who went above and beyond to help a younger student navigate his slippery driveway on the way home one day. Gretna Green School has been selected to receive hydroponic grow tanks and learning opportunities about teaching food security and how to grow plants with hydroponics.
