On Wednesday April 29, 2009 Gretna Green held its' annual Oratory contest for grades 3-5 students.  Every year the Douglastown Lions Club sponsor this contest for Gretna Green students.  Four memebers of the Lion's Club are judges and they also provide cash prizes and trophies for the top finalist.  This year's top three finalists were: First Place -Jayden Jones, Second Place- Lexie Peterson and third place - Sam Boulay.    All grades 3-5 students worked very hard on their speeches and did an excellent job.  The following students were chosen by their teachers to compete in this contest for their grade level: Grade Three - Kaitlyn Comeau, David Norton and Jennifer Morrison Grade Four G - Zachary Newman, Christopher Cooke, Bailey Black Grade Four B - Lexie Peterson, Drew Blackmore, Taufah Ahmed Grade 5 - Jayden Jones, Sam Boulay, Jillian Harris   Thank you to Mrs. Blakely who organizes this event for our school!
