Opening Day Delayed

Posted: August 28, 2015

This is a message to parents and guardians of Gretna Green Elementary.  Due to contruction delays with the renovation project at Gretna Green, the planned opening day for students on Tuesday, September 8th has been moved to Wednesday, September 9th.  This will also alter the staggered entry for our kindergarten students.  Kindergarten students originally scheduled to come on Tuesday will now come on Wednesday and Kindergarten students scheduled to come on Wednesday will now come on Thursday. As you are aware, renovations to change Gretna Green from a K-5 school to a K-8 school began this summer and will continue into the school year.  District officials are working closely with the contractor and the district and school teams to ensure that the building is ready for students and that student safety remains at the forefront of all decisions.  Further inspections will occur on Monday, September 7th to ensure that the school is ready to be opened and if a further delay in opening is required, parents and guardians will be notified.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of the Superintendent or school Principal, Keith Comeau.
