Every year we compile a slideshow of Gretna Green family veterans which is shown during our annual service. If you would like to submit a photo of a veteran in your child's family, please email the photo to keith.comeau@nbed.nb.ca with the individual's name and relation to your Gator (example: John Smith, grandfather of Kayla Smith). Deadline for photos is November 4th. If you have submitted photos in years past, there is no need to resubmit them. They will automatically be included in this year's slideshow.
History was made this week at Gretna Green as we raised the Mi'kmaq flag for the first time at our school as we continue down our path of truth and reconciliation.
Happy Thanksgiving to our entire Gretna Green learning community! We also want to remind you that there will be no school for all students on Monday, October 10th.
We would like to inform our entire GG learning community that the provincial government has declared September 30th a provincial holiday in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the lost children and survivors of the residential school system, as well as their families and communities. There will be no school for students K-12 next Friday, September 30, 2022.
Our fall sporting program is set to start a new season with both soccer and cross country being offered to many of our Gators. This of course is not possible without the voluntary help of our GG staff and learning community. Thanks to all those who have stepped yet again this year to make it happen for our Gators!
We would like to thank our entire GG learning community for making our transition into a new academic year such a smooth one! Thanks to our amazing staff, inspiring Gators and supportive families. Together we will make this new season at Gretna Green School a great one!
Mme McQuaid-Murphy and her students were selected to be featured on the Radio Canada show, "Emission Estival à Nous L'été" that will be broadcast between July 8th and August 12th. It will feature a Miramichi Tourism, highlighting the tour boat Max Aitken. It was an excellent authentic experience for our Immersion learners and a great moment for our Gators!
We are exceptionally proud to launch the official video of partnership that was recently created between Gretna Green School and Horizon Health. Mrs Foran along with Keira, Lleyton, Jack, Maya, Pedro and Aliyah created this video with an excellent message regarding healthy living and the 5210 initiative.
