In French this week, we will be discussing activities that we like to do with our families. Students will also talk about their favorite hobbies/pastime. Oral structures may include: Je joue ..              Je promène mon chien au parc.                  Je magasine au centre d’achats avec…      We completed our class book on " Nos animaux dometiques" ( Our Pets).  The students enjoyed writing about their pet and presenting their pet.  I made many copies of their book.  Your child will be bringing home the book this week or next week.  Please listen to your child read their book to you.  Enjoy!     Starting this week, students will read a leveled book seen during a Guided Reading session. They will read their books for 2 nights instead of reading new books each night. I encourage rereading books to increase accuracy and fluency each time the book is read. Each Monday and Wednesday, I will send home one leveled book seen during a Guided Reading session.Happy reading!      In math, we will complete our Patterns unit. The students will have an end of the unit test on Friday. Have a great week!

We will be having a Pizza Party on Thursday, November 12th as our class won the pizza party for the fall fundraiser.  If your child doesn’t like pizza, please send a lunch that doesn’t have to be microwaved as we will be eating in our classroom.  Your child will need to bring a recess snack and a drink. Thanks

These next few weeks in French, we will be talking about animals. We will be discussing and describing pets that we have at home or pets that we would like to have. We will also describe our pets’ temperament. Your child is more than welcome to bring in a picture of their pet or a favorite animal that s/he likes. If you wish, you can send me an email with a pic attached ( monica.lockerbie@nbed.nb.ca). They can share their picture with the class. Examples of oral structures that will be introduced this week : J’ai un lapin. (gentil, calme, excité, fidèle doux, heureux), We will make a class book about our animals next week to end our study on pets. I feel that the students will love this part of the curriculum! Finally, we will work on Halloween vocabulary and learn new songs. We will have a busy, but fun few weeks!
