Thursday

1.     Watch the video explaining today’s activities and choices. Please note that these daily videos will be in French from now on in order to increase student access to French.  However, the written instructions will remain in English.   Follow the link- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnCdMtNhwgg

2.     If you have not received an email or did not inquire for the infos-jeunes login information, then please send an email to nadia.arsenault@nbed.nb.ca so that you can receive your child’s info-jeunes login information, just in case they have forgotten.  This also applies for our new resource that we will be using from

Remember to only choose one from each category.

Oral/Listening Activities (10 minutes)

1.     Same activity from last week, but make 10 new cards to add to your collection!  If you have a family member in your household, a parent or sibling or another relative who speaks French, then play five second rule!  You will need a timer, paper and a something to write with.  First, each person will write a category of items that could be listed.  For example, “Nommez trois types de fruits” (Name 3 types of fruit) and so on. Once all of the papers have been created, then get playing!  If the person gets it wrong then no points, if they get it right, then they get the points!  First one to who has the most points after twenty minutes, wins!

OR

2.     If you do not have a relative who speaks French, then you can still play option 2 of 5 second rule!  Prepare cards the same way, only when you (the student) responds, you will have to respond in French.  This is actually a little harder, so give yourself 10 seconds!  But the person playing in English only has 5 seconds!

Reading Activities (40 minutes)

Today, I want you to login and explore the je lis, je lis littératie website.  You should have already contacted me by now looking for your login information.  If you have not, then shoot me an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  Look around at the different leveled books, even if they are way too easy.  Try clicking the slow down and speed up buttons and try and read some, out loud, to yourself, just to get used to it. https://jelis-free.rkpublishing.com/student

Final Activity (10 minutes)

1.     Today I want you to check out the STEM-hand out en français and there is an English copy for parents as well.  Read it over and pick an activity you would like to do on the next day.  Follow the link and click on the challenge from last week as there is no French copy available for this week yet.  http://stemnorth.nbed.nb.ca/home-learning-resources/page/asd-n-weekly-steam-asd-n-stiam-hebdomadaire?fbclid=IwAR14E7csjwGcpWS3cidlPLDb6eLNTH-3oGJF09JV0axFgYBbaqTkvkFFxEo
