Monday Message - Februrary 15-19th

Posted: February 13, 2010

This week should prove to be another memorable week!  We have two field trips ready to go.  On Tuesday we are off to the Miramichi Police station and on Friday we will be Cross Country skiing.  I would like to remind all of you to bring in $5.00 to help cover the costs for our meal at DQ on Friday.  I would also like to remind you all to bring in your permission slips for these trips. We will not be skating on Tuesday, for obvious reasons.  We also have our District 16 CUTE Award cermemony on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.  Good luck to A.J., Bailey and Zachary who are participating in the ceremony.  Thanks again to all those who submitted votes on my behalf. Justin K. will be doing our Math podcast of the week, good luck Justin!  We will also be selecting new team captains for our four teams.  Thank you to those students who emailed me their pen pal letters over the weekend.  I can now send them off to our pen pals, yeah! In Language Arts Ms Henessy will be joining us for some work on spelling strategies as well as writing. Our second draft of our sneaker story will be due on Wednesday. This week's personal journal entry will deal with the point of view of one of the characters from our novel, Door in the Wall. I will explain this in class.   In Math we will be beginning a unit on Division.  You will be happy to know that there will be no assigned Math homework until Wednesday.  I want to make sure you have all mastered partial quotient division before you do it on your own for homework.   In Science this week we will continue with our unit on Weather and explore some of the factors that contribute to weather storms.  We will also be doing two activities for our Science Olympics.   In Social Studies we will examine some of the customs of communities in Medieval Times.
