The entire learning community of Gretna Green celebrated an excellent kick off to our academic year.  The grade five students lead us all in song and dance and it was a great way to embrace our school spirit.  New staff members were introduced and Ms. Bransfield along with Mr. Buggie greeted everyone with a warm welcome.  It was also a perfect time to kick off our official student council elections which will roll out shortly. A great time was had by all!

The entire learning community of Gretna Green Elementary would like to extend their sincerest thank you to this year's Grade Five Year Book Committee.  Student members were Haylie, Taylor, Emily and Taufah.  We would also like to extend a special thank you to our school secretary, Mrs. Clark, who oversaw the entire project!  The year books were a big hit among our students at the grade five banquet.  We appreciate the number of dedicated hours and effort put into this formidable memoir over the last two months of school by the entire committee!

The grade five students acknowledged our very own Mrs. B. Briggs upon her retirement after many years of service in our school cafeteria.  Each student presented her with a personal written anecdote of why she will be missed by all of us.  Mrs. Briggs was then presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and song.  Good luck to you Mrs. Briggs.  We will all miss you!
