Congratulations to GG Times members Zachary, Bailey and A.J. who recently submitted a video in a national video contest and won.  They interviewed WW II veteran, John Forbes, and submitted their video into a video contest sponsored by Friends of Veterans Canada. The winning prize was an all expense paid trip for their veteran, John Forbes, to Holland for the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Holland.  This proved to be a rewarding experience for both the students and veteran John Forbes.  Well done!

Check out the Stand Up pictures in the Image Gallery! On Wednesday April 14, 2010 we encourage students and staff to wear pink to school to show that we will not tolerate bullying at Gretna Green.  Pink pins will be availble for all students so it will not be necessary to buy anything new if your child does not have pink clothing.  "Why Pink"

The salmon eggs have arrived courtesy of Mark Hambrook, marine biologist, from the Miramichi Fish Hatchery.  This program will allow students to see the eggs hatch over a 6 to 8 week period.  The salmon fry will then be released into the main South West Miramichi river sometime in June.  The grade five students are very excited about this program.  It also allows the students to study environmental issues, fish habitat and much more in conjunction with our Science curriculum!

The grade five students had a great time curling today.  They learned many of the basic skills needed to play this fine winter sport.  For many of our students it was their first time playing and it was a great experience.  We would also like to thank Mr. Pinder for making this outing possible!
