Colorado educators found their way to Gretna Green this morning and spent their time recording morning announcements and visiting classrooms. They really enjoyed their time with us and look forward to implementing some of our school initiatives in their own schools.

This should include:

soccer)

Gretna Green has always benefited from the help of parent volunteers over the years. One parent, John Fitzpatrick, was recognized this week by Mr. Comeau for his dedicated service towards the overall maintenance of our ice rink. Thanks again to all of our parents who continue to add to the positive learning environment of our school!
In preparation for our upcoming Remembrance Day Program on November 8th, we would like to include a power point slide show of veterans that are connected to you. If you have a family member veteran please drop off a photo at the office or email a digital copy to Mr. Comeau and they will be featured in our slide show. Deadline for submissions is November 4th, thanks!
The students of Gretna Green partnered with the Newcastle Rotary in a fundraising campaign against the spread of Polio around the world. Rotarians were on hand to give all students a mock Polio immunization and celebrate the money raised by our students. Well done Gretna Green!!!
Our school fundraiser officially ended last Friday and it was a huge success! Our top three fundraisers were announced today. In third place, Samuel was awarded a digital camera, second place was Tanner and he was awarded a digital tablet and the first place prize of a nintnedo Wii U was won by Elizabeth. We would like to thank all of our students and families for their phenomenal support during this year's fund raiser!!!

The players and coaches of our grade 2/3 soccer team were all smiles following our season ending soccer jamboree. The players represented our school exceptionally well with a solid effort by all. All participating teams appreciated the invite to attend and had a great time being active. All district teams were treated to subs, water and veggie snacks sponsored by Tom Burns and Cutting Edge Fitness. A special thanks goes out to our coaches Kim Stewart, Greg Scott, Scott Seely and Tom Burns! Stay tuned for an upcoming GG Times episode by jr. reporters of this wonderful event.
Our grade 3-5 soccer team finished our soccer jamboree this evening with a perfect 3-0 record on their way to the gold medal. The team played hard, played fair and had a lot of fun along the way. It was nice to have our Home & School provide a great barbecue and the fantastic weather made the night complete! A special thanks to Mr. Cabel and Ms. Gardiner for a great job coaching our winning squad this year!
