  • Practice weekly No Excuse Words (February, where, wear, let's, don't, watches, brushes, classes, buzzes, boxes)  "es" rule: If a word ends in ch, sh, ss, zz, or x, you add "es" instead of just "s" to make it plural.
  • Complete Math multiplication/division facts sheet 
  • Complete Language Arts figurative language sheet

  • A notice is going home Tuesday about library cards. Our three-month reading challenge has started and the more access we have to books we love, the more fun it will be! It is our last week before Christmas break! We have lots of fun holiday activities planned including a Christmas nature walk, trivia, a holiday party, etc. 

Weekly Update:

  • Monday, Dec. 14th is Twin Day.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 15th is Christmas Concert Recording Day. Dress your best! It is also library day. Please return all library books.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 16th is Crazy Sock Day. 
  • Thursday, Dec. 17th is Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Miramichi Food Bank.
  • Friday, Dec. 18th is PJ Day. Please bring $1 to donate to the Miramichi Food Bank. Our virtual Christmas concert will be uploaded to the GG website by Friday.

The countdown is on until Christmas break! We have lots of fun Christmas activities planned in the upcoming two weeks. :)

  • Tuesday, December 8th is library day. Please return all library books that are finished.
  • Wednesday December 9th is Christmas Dinner Day. All students will be served a FREE Christmas dinner prepared by the cafeteria. (If you would like to opt out, please return the blue form sent last week ASAP.)
  • Friday, December 11th is Hat Day. Bring $1 for the Miramichi Food Bank to wear a hat all day long. 
  • Report card envelopes need to be returned to school to reuse for Term 2 reports. Please return if you have not yet.

  • Thursday, December 3rd is jersey day. Bring $1 for the Miramichi Food Bank to wear your jersey.
  • Friday, December 4th there is NO SCHOOL for students.
  • Parent-teacher phone interviews are Thursday evening from 4-6pm and Friday morning from 9-11am. If you have not returned the yellow form and would like to book an interview, please send it to school ASAP.

  • Tuesday, November 10th is our virtual Remembrance Day ceremony to be live-streamed on the GG Facebook page beginning at 10:00am. Please tune in to see us recite the poem, "Let's Remember" by Jean Kay. 
  • Wednesday, November 11th there will be NO SCHOOL.
  • Thursday, November 12th, we are beginning to learn guitar! The goal is to be able to perform a song for our virtual Christmas concert.

  • Tuesday, October 27th is library day. Please send library books to school if finished to return. 
  • Wednesday, October 28th is a Pajama Day for 5T for their whole class behaviour reward for reaching 500 points. 
  • Thursday, October 29th is Scary, Hairy, Black and Orange Day for the whole school. It is BYOT (Bring Your Own Treats) to eat. We are unable to bring treats from home for classmates due to Covid-19 regulations. I have treats for the kiddos in case any do not arrive with some. 
  • Friday, October 30th, there is NO SCHOOL for students as it is a professional learning day for teachers.

  • Our annual fundraiser deadline is today and the draw will be completed by Friday. If you have any last-minute tickets/money to return, please send them ASAP. 
  • We go to the school library each Tuesday. Please send library books to school if finished to return. 
  • Please keep the Home Learning packet in a safe place at home should they be needed in the future. Digital copies have been uploaded here.
  • Math/Language Arts online game links have been uploaded here.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving long weekend and feels rejuvinated for the week ahead. 

Weekly Update:

  • Our annual fundraiser is on-going. Please send tickets/money to school by Monday, October 19th. If you have unsold tickets that you know will not be sold, please return them to school to be re-distibuted to other students to sell. 
  • On Tuesday, I am sending home log-in information for our new online reading program, Kids A-Z. This is currently being used during school hours, however, you are welcome to use it at home as well for daily reading homework. The class has explored and is familiar with it. There are many "just right" books students can read at their individual level. It is a great program!
  • On Wednesday, I am sending home log-in information for our new online math program, Dreambox. This is currently being used during school hours, however, you are welcome to use it at home as well. To help set up Dreambox, use this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CjxdqMN_5mFP82_st-JZxM0GgA8rk7LJ/view. 
  • On Friday, I am sending home a package with instructions for home learning so you are prepared if it occurs. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that it is not needed.
