Weekly Update: 

  • Monday - There will be pizza provided by GG Food Services for lunch. Thank you so much! Mrs. McCafferty's last day party will take place after. We'll miss you! We also have our reading challenge wrap-up with prizes. 
  • Tuesday - 5T PJ Day! Also it is our last Library Day (Please send all library books back. They are due today.) 
  • Wednesday - Grade 5 celebration with cake. Thanks, Mr. Comeau! I am sending home half of students work today. 
  • Thursday - 5Tozer STEM Olympics will happen in the morning. The GG Awards Banquet will be held virtually this afternoon.  I'm sending home the second half of students work today. 
  • Friday - 5T Field Day will take place in the morning, along with our last day of school party this afternoon. 

Let's have an awesome last week of grade 5!

Our leadership group is fundraising for the Miramichi Youth House. If possible, please bring a $1 donation for each theme day. However, students are encouraged to dress up regardless. :)

This week is Science Week put on my the province. From Monday to Thursday, our class will participate in innovative and fun virtual presentations, STEM activities, and science experiments with other classes throughout New Brunswick. 

  • Monday is Red, White, and Blue Day. We also have our first swimming session today at MVHS! Bring a swimsuit, towel, and flip flops. 
  • Tuesday is Star Day and library day. 
  • Wednesday is Green Day for St. Patrick's Day and Phelan Lucky. 
  • Thursday is Flag Day.
  • Friday is Hat Day.

Weekly Update: Winter Carnival and Take Me Outside Winter Challenge

Check out our exciting theme days and outdoor activities below! Please dress warmly with full winter attire. 

  • Monday is Mix and Match Day. Mix and match colours/patterns. 
  • Tuesday is Inside Out Day. Wear your clothes inside out. Tuesday is also library day. Please send books back to return. 
  • Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day. Wear a pink shirt (or another article of clothing if you do not have one) in support of anti-bullying. 
  • Thursday is Backward Day. Wear your clothes backwards. 
  • Friday is PJ Day.  Bring a $1 donation for the SPCA to wear your PJs.
  • This week is the Take Me Outside Winter Challenge. We will be incorporating outdoor activities into our lessons such as building our own version of the Ancient Egyptian pyramids, snowshoeing, tallest snow tower challenge, sledding, and fort building.

Homework Due Friday:

  • Read-to-self for 20 minutes daily (www.kidsA-Z.com is an option)
  • Practice weekly No Excuse Words (sun, son, meet, meat, doesn't, discussing, talking, smiling, deciding, hoping) - drop the "e" and add "ing"

  • This week and next is the Take Me Outside Winter Challenge. We will be incorporating outdoor activities into our lessons such as building our own version of the Ancient Egyptian pyramids in the snow, snowshoeing, tallest snow tower challenge, among other fun opportunities!
