Grade 6
We have one unit left to cover in the grade 6 material: module 8 on transformations. Module 8 is on page 289 of the student text. You can find copies of the English text, Math Makes Sense 6, online. This will be difficult to cover from a distance as it involves moving images about a coordinate plane. Most of us do not have graph paper at home or the ability to access a printer. Rest assured that it will be covered next year as this is a concept we re-visit in grade. I am developing a list of some resources to introduce the unit from a distance. These resources will be posted next week, and I intend to make a few videos to explain the main concepts.
This week we will focus on our multiplication tables. I can’t stress enough how important it is that your child know their multiplication tables by heart. Please spend the time this week practicing them with your child. If you would like a report of which multiplication facts are causing trouble for your child, please email me and I can send you a report from Reflex that identifies them for you child. My email address is angela.mcquaidmurphy@nbed.nb.ca
