Hi everyone and welcome back from your long Thanksgiving Giving weekend. This week's targetted learning goal will be speaking French in class. Let's fill our board so we can get our team prize ... mmmmmmmm ... I would wonder what it will be? We will be having our cross country meet on Wednesday at 4:00 pm at Gretna Green. This is also Fire Prevention Week. We will be having a presentation on Thursday morning with our local fire fighters. We will also have a special theatre production for our students in grades 3-5 at 1:15 on Thursday.
In Math this week we will continue to study our multiplication facts strategies as well as overall number sense. In French we will focus on creating special moments in our writing of our biographies. Let's have another great work team!

Welcome to October everyone and our first long weekend ... Thanksgiving! Great job on supporting our Terry Fox campaign - our class raised over $75.00 alone! We will begin our full rotation of daily five during French class this week and continue our work on our biographies. This month's word trait focus will be "organization" in our writing. In Math we will be having a Math test on multiplication which will include your basice multiplication facts and double digit multiplication. Don't forget to check our website for our school soccer schedule and if you are in drama check the schedule that was given to you. Let's have another great week everyone!!!

Hello everyone! This week we will be doing our spare change drive for Terry Fox and it will end on Friday. Please bring in any spare change you have in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. Don't forget to wear your shirt on Friday for Orange Shirt Day. We also have a 1/2 day on Wednesday this week. All students will be dimissed at 11:15. We will continue to work on our multiplication strategies and work on strategies for double digit mulplication. There will be a multiplication quiz on Friday. We will also continue working our biographies in French class and complete our simple machines project in Science class.

Hello team and welcome back to another week at GG! Remember our school photos are scheduled for Tuesday September 19th. We will also have a bus evacuation practice on Wednesday. Don't forget to bring your phys.ed clothes on Tuesday and Thursday. We will continue to work on our mulitplication facts in Math and overall number sense. There will be a Math quiz on Friday for the following facts ... 0,1,5 and 10.
Planning for our simples machines project will also begin this week. We will also begin our first writing assignment in French and don't forget to keep practising your reading at home every evening for 10-15 minutes. Don't forget to participate in our walking school bus on Friday - we will all meet at the Northumberland Square at 7:30 am and walk to Gretna Green!

Hi everyone I would like to congratulate the entire class on a great first week of school! They quickly accepted the expectataions established of them on the first day of school and showed me the great potential that exists on this team. They are a very capable group of students and I look forward to learning with them in the coming weeks! Hi everyone, welcome to Mme Bulger-Hickey's class page! I would like to welcome all of you to another great year at GG and grade 5 French Immersion. I am happy you found your way to this site as student content will be posted here that highlights some of the great things going on in class as well as important information regarding our class and school.
