Soccer and Cross Country

Soccer and Cross Country will both be starting on Monday, September 13th at 2:30.  Cross Country is open for anyone in grades 3, 4 and 5. Practices will be held every Monday from 2:30-3:00.  Soccer is open for Grades 4 and 5 and practices will be every Monday from 2:30-3:30.   Schedules for each sport will be sent home and posted online when the school receives them.

Walk Across Canada

Gretna Green students started to "Walk Across Canada" last week during Recess.  Students are given a pedometer to track how many steps they take during their 15 minute walk.  Our starting point is Sackville, NB.  Last week our school had 41,678 steps which equals 33km.  Great job everyone!

Boys' 4/5 Basketball

The 4/5 boys won their second game of the season yesterday against Croft.  It was a great all around game from the boys. The boys will next game will be on January 11th at home against Croft.

Intramural Sports

The Bobcats defeated the Wolves in the first game of Newcomball on Tuesday by a score of 16-15.  The Grizzlies will be playing the Eagles on Thursday at Recess.  Team list and a schedule is available in the Documents list.

Basketball

The boys' and girls' basketball teams each had a game this week at home.  The boys had a hard fought win against Harkins while the girls had a strong effort in a lost to Croft.  Both teams will be playing again next week.  The boys will be traveling to Croft on Monday and the girls game will be announced shortly.

Intramural Sports

We will be beginning Intramural Sports for grades 3, 4 and 5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at recess starting December 1st.  Our first sport will be Newcomball.  Game schedules and results will be posted on the Gretna Green Sports page every week.

Gretna Green Basketball

Basketball at Gretna Green will be starting the week of November 16th.  Our grade 4/5 teams will play against other schools in our District throughout the 8 week season.  Grade 2/3 teams will only have practices after school to build their skills.  The practice schedule for all teams is as follows:   Monday -        Boys Grade 4-5         Tuesday -       Girls Grade 4-5 Wednesday -  Girls Grade 2-3 Thursday -       Boys Grade 2-3   Practices will run from 2:30 to 4:00.  Thank you for being prompt in picking up your child.
