Sobeys recently sent out a challenge to our local community and the community spirit of the Miramichi responded! Sobeys customers were asked to make monetary donations in support of our local schools. The generosity of our local community enabled Sobeys to hand out $500.00 worth of gift cards to nine different schools throughout district 16. Gretna Green Elementary was the first proud recipient of these gift cards. Thanks so much to the community of Miramichi and to Sobeys for making this possible.
The students got a special visit today from some pretty cool basketball players. Players from the St.John Mill Rats team came to school to deliver a message regarding the importance of physical fitness. They also displayed some of their talents and our very own teachers also displayed some of their own basketball skills. A great time was had by all!
A
sea of pink will flow through the halls of Gretna Green on Wednesday
February 23rd, 2011. The entire learning community is joining together
in a unified effort to take a stand against bullying. In doing so,
everyone is encouraged to wear pink for our annual Pink Shirt Day
campaign. Bertha the Bully Buster already has her pink shirt so now
it's time to get yours! For more information regarding this important
