The teachers of Gretna Green Elementary recently took part in the annual Relay For Life walk in support of cancer research.  The entire teaching staff was well represented and made a valuable contribution to the cause.  We are happy to note that over $2500.00 was raised on behalf of Gretna Green Elementary.  We would also like to thank our team leader Ms. Hitchman who spear headed this campaign.  Job well done to Ms. Hitchman and the entire team!

Grade four students, Jacob and Arthur, took on a leadership role recently at Gretna Green Elementary. They took it upon themselves to create their own road hockey league for students in grades three to five.  They created a schedule, teams and went over rules with perspective players.  Great job boys and it is great to see you both providing this fun activity to your peers, bravo!

Mr. Hayward and his Star Troopers from Miramichi Rural were our invited guests today at Gretna Green.  They gave us a very informative presentation on what we see when we look up into the sky.  It also gave us a sneek peek of what to expect for our Starry Starry Night session on Friday, May 27th.  Kathryn Harrop from CBC, School Zone, was also here to record all the action and make it an episode on her next show.  Stay tuned for an update on the date and time of this episode.  Great job Star Troopers and we look forward to doing it all again soon.
