Dads, John Fitzpatrick, Darren Row along with Mr. Comeau are putting the finishing touches to our first ever outdoor rink! The ice surface is still not ready so we would please ask all "eager" skaters to stay off the ice surface until it is fully completed on Monday, January 26th. This rink will give ample opportunity for our students and entire learning community to enjoy an outdoor skate. Thanks again to the many dads who have volunteered their time to keeping the ice surface clean throughout the winter months ahead. GG is a great place to be!
The staff of Gretna Green would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing all of our students again next week. School starts on Monday January 9th, 2012. See you then!
We would like to extend a sincere and happy holiday to each and everyone
of you! Take this time to relax and enjoy the company of family and
friends. We look forward to seeing you all in 2012!
We had so much to celebrate today at Gretna Green! During our monthly assembly, Ms. Gardiner's and Mme Gallant's class were recognized with the Dynamo Dragon Award. Madelyn Landry and Alex Wickholm were also recognized with our student of the month award. A special visit from the Newcastle Rotary allowed them to present the school with a plaque of appreciation for our recent fundraising campaign against polio. So as you can see there certainly is a lot to celebrate at Gretna Green, bravo! This photo highlights today's recipients of our weekly celebrating student success certificates.
Thank you to our Home and School association (especially Norma MacGregor and Heather Dunn) for providing free popcorn for all today! It was a really nice Christmas treat!
The entire learning community of Gretna Green Elementary would like to thank Ms. Hosford and Ms. Hitchman for the fabulous Christmas concert that they presented for all of us today. The students were provided with the opportunity to showcase their many talents and they did not disappoint. The students along with the leadership and guidance of Ms. Hosford and Ms. Hitchman combined to create some excellent memories for all of us, bravo!
Our very own Brydie Trevors participated in a writing contest sponsored by our local legion. Guess what? Brydie won and will now have her submission go onto the provincial finals! Bravo Brydie, we are all so proud of you!
The Gretna Green Home and School Association are selling Gretna Green braclets for $2.00 each. There are two different bracelets, a green one and gold one! One has the saying, "Be A Friend To Make A Friend" and the other one says, "Gretna Green is a Great Place to Learn". Bracelets can be purchased from Mrs. Clark or Mrs. Simmons in the office, or from Mrs. Morehouse.
