Happy Halloween! Gentle reminder to please send warm hats and mittens for recess.
This week, we will wrap up our Halloween themed activities and move on the practicing singing "Oh Canada" for our school Remembrance Day ceremony in November.
I continue to evaluate and track students reading skills with our new provincial EGLA (Early Grades Literacy Assessment) reading assessments. It requires an exceptional amount of time on my end. This assessment was a pilot for Grades 1 and 2 last year.
Reminders:
Tuesday - library
Wednesday - SNAP program
Friday - No school for students. Professional Learning day for teachers.

Welcome back to our final full week of October. We have a spooky week ahead of us.
Costume parade will take place this Friday at 1:30 in our school gymnasium. Students are to bring their costumes to school and time will be set aside prior to parade to get ready. We will have middle schoolers helping our younger students.
If students wish to bring treats, they may do so on Tuesday, October 31. Treats must be nut-free. Treats will not be consumed at school - they will be sent home with students, so no cupcakes, cakes, etc. A school messenger notice by the school will be sent home regarding information.
* Please ensure green folder and homework folder with book returned on Friday.
P.S. Wouldn't mind a quick e-mail/note just to see if parents/guardians are reading my posts for curiosity sacks :)

Welcome back! Hopefully the sun show's itself this week and we can take part in the Take Me Outside Challenge 2023.
French - We will be practicing and rehearsing the sound "EAU and AU" this week. We also continue with Halloween related activities. Weekly words of the week have been coming along nicely in class as well. Friday’s, we have an impromptu “quiz” and students have been doing well.
Math - We continue to learn about numeracy i.e., place value, representing numbers pictorially, visually and within a table.
The following are a few reminders for the week:
** Please continue to send a dated note if your child is to be picked up after school and/or attend an activity. **
