Ducks Unlimited Field Trip

A reminder that tomorrow, May 8, we will be going on our Ducks Unlimited Field trip. Thank you to Ducks Umlimited for sponsoring this trip. Students need to be dressed appropriately....rubber boots, splash pants and hats. Also you need to bring and lunch or snacks that do not need to be heated up! We will be having our Pizza Party after we return from our trip!! I will be a great day.

This Week in GG4SS - May 5 -9

Lot's of fun activities ahead this week and a pizza party!! Congratulations to Aylia who was the top seller for the Home and School Fundraiser!!! * Peer Helper training will take place on Tuesday and Friday this week!!*Field trip to Duck's Unlimited will take place on Thursday morning...RUBBER BOOTS are a MUST! The field trip will happen, rain or shine, so dress appropriately.* Natural Resource presentation on Wednesday morning!*I'm planning to have our Pizza Party on Thursday at lunch. Language Arts - We are going to do Point of View Writing this week!Math - We are going to have our Unit test on Multiplication and DivisionSocial Studies - We are going to finishing our study of the Continents and Oceans. Let's have another Superstar week!

This Week in GG4SS - April 28-30

There are only 3 days of school this week! Thursday and Friday are NBTA days for teachers. Due to the short week....there will be NO HOMEWORK this week!! The only thing you need to do is study for your spelling test on Wednesday.* Drama continues. A date has been set for your drama production - May 29. I can't wait to see the show.*The Home and School Fundraiser was extended one more day. Remember to bring in your sponsor money if you haven't done so already.Language Arts - This week we will be working on Reading Comprehension stratgies.Math - We will finish our study of Division strategies and begin our Unit Review. The unit test for Multiplication and Division will be next week.Social Studies - We will finish present our projects about "What Our World Look Like" and learn more about the continents and oceans. Let's have another Superstar week!

This Week in GG4SS - April 22-25

There is only 9 weeks left of Grade 4...wow we are going to have a great 9 weeks!!** Celebrate...celebrate...celebrate - Tuesday we are going to celebrate 200 books read!! I am very proud of you for reading so many books!! We are now on our way to 300 books!! Well done SUPERSTARS* Remember to keep collecting pledges for the Home and School Spell A Thon. Pledges are due at the end of this week!! Sure would be great to win that pizza party!*You need to bring EXTRA SOCKS with you for the next couple of weeks. Just in case your feet get wet on the playground. There is still lots of snow on the playground and it is melting fast...be prepared :) Language Arts - This week we will be finishing our Personal Narratives and workinging on Pre-fixes and Suffixes.Math - We will continue to learn new strategies to divide big numbers. You also need to study your 9 times table.Social Studies - We will finish and present our project on "What Our World Looks Like" Let's have another Superstar week!!

This week in GG4SS - April 14 - 16

We have a short but busy week ahead of us!! Remember that there is NO SCHOOL on Thursday. It is a Professional Learning Day for teachers!! Also Friday is Good Friday, so there is NO SCHOOL!.* Drama continues this week.*The Home and School Spell- A-Thon starts on Monday. There are great prizes to be won. See below for a list of your Spell A Thon spelling words.** Remember to bring an extra pair of socks in case your feet get wet when playing on the playground. The snow is melting and the playground is really wet!!!! Language Arts - This week we are going to finish the final copy of our personal narratives. We are also going to have a closer look at our April spelling words and our Spell A Thon Words.Math - We are going to start our lessons on Divison. The first lesson is "Estimating Quotients."Social Studies - We are going to look at "What Our World Looks Like" Chapter 5.That is all for this week....Happy Easter!!Let's have another Superstar week! This week in GG4SS - March 31 - April 4

More snow for our first week of April!!! Remember your snowpants!* Parent-Teacher has been re-scheduled to this Thursday evening, April 3, from 4 -7. The interview times remain the same.* Drama continues this week.* It has been a few weeks since we have had library. Remember to return your book before Thursday. Language Arts - Those who did not write the spelling test on Friday will have it Monday. This week we will be returning to the Writing trait of Organization and completing writing assignments related to this. We will also begin to learn of spelling words for the month of April.Math - We are going to finish our unit "Using Models to Multiply".Social Studies - We will finish our study on how exploration causes change.That's it for this week!Let's have another Superstar week!
