Our grade 5 class participated in the Great Canadian Mail Race. This is an activity that has been going on for quite a few years. Each student writes a generic letter to any grade 5 student in Canada. They research a city and province where they want their letter to go, and find a school in that region. The student who gets a reply back first wins the race!  We received a letter from a student in Quesnel, British Columbia. One of our students wrote back to this student. It was a great activity and the students really enjoyed it.

Remembrance Day poems

Both grade 5 classes will be going to the Miramichi Senior Citizen's home next Wednesday to perform a song "Peace like a river" and read poems to the veterans. Please practice these 3 poems at home:   In Flander's Fields , Remembrance Day, & Little Poppy The Link will bring you to these poems.   The students have also been working on acrostic poems of their own. Please make sure the good copies are completed at home and bring them back to class.
