We finished Halloween Fraidy-Cat. It was a great book. Freddy was invited to a Halloween party. He was afraid to go because just looking at monsters gave him nightmares! His costume was a hammerhead shark. Everyone thought he looked weird.
At the party, Jessie asked if Freddy wanted to go through the haunted house with her. Freddy thought it wasn't a bad idea since she was the bravest one in school. In the last room of the haunted house, Freddy got scared. He screamed, "Ahhhhh!"
They heard a noise coming from the basement. Max said he'd go down by himself to check it out but the other kids said Freddy would go. Max was scared. Freddy found out that the noise was only a cat! In the end, Freddy was known not as a baby but as a brave man!
We think you should read this book!

In Math, we have been learning about odd and even numbers. We know that even numbers can be divided evenly into groups of two. Numbers that end in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 are even. Odd numbers can NOT be divided evenly into groups of two. Numbers that end in 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 are odd. Take a moment to listen to our cheer that helps us remember which numbers are even and which are odd.

We are reading a chapter book called Halloween Fraidy-Cat. Chole is having a class Halloween party and everyone is invited! Freddy is a little nervous because he's a bit afraid of people in costumes! He doesn't want anyone to know that he's scared. We can't wait to find out how the party goes! Ask your child to make a prediction about what is going to happen next.

In grade two, we have pen pals. They live all the way in Dallas, Texas! So far, we got to do one video conference to meet our pals. We also had a Bridgit and had Courtney tell them what the weather was like here. We have received letters from them. Now, we are writing them back. Our class is really looking forward to doing more with them. Our pen pal names are June and Annie. The teacher's name is Ms. Manuel. We are really enjoying having pen pals. So is Miss Matheson! It is awesome!!
