The final MAD Science originally slated for yesterday will now be held next Wednesday, January 26th. The second group enrolled in this program will start their first session on Wednesday, February 2nd. Put your Science hats and get ready for some awesome Science activities!
The final session of the MAD Science program will take place on Wednesday, January 19th from 2:20-3:30. The second group registered for this program will commence on January 26th from 2:30-3:30 at Gretna Green. These after school sessions will last for six weeks total. This program has been a big hit for our students. If your child has not registered for this after school program and would like to do so, feel free to contact the school for more information.
The entire learning community of Gretna Green Elementary would like to congratulate Ms. Bransfield and her family on their newest addition. Henry Robert MacLean was born on Friday, January 7th. Samuel now has a little brother. We are all so happy for you and Henry has found himself in a wonderful home!
The Gretna Green Home and School Association have made a wonderful contribution to the learning environment of our teachers and students. They announced today that they will be donating a digital camera, memory card and carrying case for each and every home room class teacher at Gretna Green along with First Aid kits. Wow, what a great way to kick off 2011! They are also planning on purchasing other items for our classes in the near future. The leadership and ingenuity illustrated by our Home and School president, Mr.

Mr. Comeau and Mme Gallant's students were invited to view an array of Christmas projects and plays today produced by Immersion students at Dr. Losier. The entire experience was very rewarding for all of our students. The students created all their projects in French and shared them with our students. We were exceptionally well received by Mme Matchett and her team of students and the vast array of talent proved to be a great kick off to the Christmas spirit!
The Gretna Green Home & School continued their annual Christmas movie tradition at the theatre over the weekend. The turn out was great and a wonderful time was had by all. Thanks again to our Home & School executive and members. Your support and school involvement is very much appreciated!
Today marks the final day of Mr. Cabel's teaching practicum at Gretna Green Elementary. Although Mr. Cabel has only spent four months within our school his legacy of innovative projects, ideas and learning opportunities for both teachers and students will last for many years to come. His technological expertise was probably best exemplified with his recent production of our Christmas concert DVD! For those of you who purchased this professional keepsake you can thank Mr. Cabel for its overall quality. Thanks again Mr.
