The students got a special visit today from some pretty cool basketball players. Players from the St.John Mill Rats team came to school to deliver a message regarding the importance of physical fitness. They also displayed some of their talents and our very own teachers also displayed some of their own basketball skills. A great time was had by all!

Gretna Green had reason to celebrate during the recent District 16 CUTE Award ceremony. Eleven finalists were selected in a wide array of categories and two of these came out on top. Mr. Cabel and Mr. MacIntosh's submission in the digital audio category was crowned with a CUTE Award along with Mr. Comeau's grade three class in the teacher page category. Congratulations to all our finalists and CUTE Award recipients. We are all so proud of your accomplishments!
Our grade four and five boys' and girls' basketball teams will be participating in a basketball jamboree on Thursday, February 17th at Dr. Losier Middle School. Remember to play hard, play fair and have fun! We would also like to thank Ms. Gardiner, Ms. Matheson and Mr. Ryan for providing this wonderful sporting activity for our students! How CUTE is Gretna Green? Well, we are going to soon find out. Gretna Green received some great news today. We received our highest number of nominations ever for the annual District 16 CUTE Awards to be held this Wednesday, February 16th. Congratulations to all our students and teachers who have been nominated for this year's award ceremony. You all play such a great role in making our school a fun place to learn! Ms. O'Toole, Ms. Moorehouse and Ms. Moodly along with their students recently submitted their video into this year's District 16 CUTE Awards. They were all selected as finalists in the Innovate Use Of Technology category. You are all invited to vote for your choice as the official winner in this category. Gretna Green will be holding a cutest pet contest as a school fundraiser to help the Grade 5 class raise money for their end of the year field trip. This is sure to bring fun and excitement to the classrooms at our school!!! There will be a $2.00 fee to enter your pet’s photo into the competition. Students can enter more than one pet. However, they must be on a separate entry form and the $2.00 fee for each entry.
