Hello everyone we had the official launch of our SPCA Fundraiser this week!  We need your support in bringing in the following items in support of our local SPCA.  These items include, cat litter, can cat food, dry cat food – without red dye (it upsets their stomachs) preferably Whiskas Meaty Selection or Purina cat chow, can kitten food, dry kitten food, dish soap, latex gloves, blankets, canned dog food.  We encourage all of you to help out by having your child bring in an item to our school or drop them off.  Our fundraiser will end on May 1st, thanks!  Check out Students' Corner for our vi

This is a reminder that there will be no school for current kindergarten students at Gretna Green Elementary on April 17th.  Our annual Teddy Bear Picnic will be held on this day for incoming kindergarten students in the Fall of 2013.

Girls Spring League will begin next week. Sessions will be at Gretna Green  once a week and will run from 6:00 until 7:45. Sessions will run for 6 weeks. Girls in Grade 2 and 3 will start Tuesday April 16. Girls in Grade 4 and 5 will start Wednesday April 17. There is no charge for girls already registered with Miramichi Hoops. For any new players the cost will be $15.

There will be a spring league for mini boys starting on Thursday April 18th at Gretna Green.  Spring League will start at 6 PM and end at 7:45 PM.  Spring league will run until the end of May.  All boys currently in grades 3, 4 and 5 are welcome to attend.  There is no cost for current Miramichi Hoops members.  There is a cost of $15 for any boys that are not members to cover insurance.  For more information please contact Rick Stewart or Andrew MacMullin.

Mrs, Walls and her students are on a mission!  They have teamed up with grade 5 students Brooke and Isabella to put on a fundraiser by the school in support of our local SPCA.  They will be creating videos to promote this awesome idea and share with you the items needed by our SPCA.  Stay tuned for more information on our morning announcements.

 Our annual Spring Book Fair was held last week and we would like to inform you that it was a huge success.  There was over $3600.00 in overall sales.  That tells us that there are a lot of great books in the hands of our students.  Thanks so much to all of you who came out to support this year's fair!

 Mme Beaudoin from the Village Acadien provided a French Cultural presentation to all of Gretna Green today. She shared with our students what life was like for Acadien pioneers and it proved to be a great learning experience for all of our students.

 Elementary students from around the district gathered at Gretna Green today for the annual district STEM Fair.  All participants had an opportunity to share their cool projects and participate in some interactive science based activities.  Thanks again to all those involved in organizing this great event, especially our very own Mme Dickson!

Our grade 3-5 students had a great afternoon displaying their science projects for parents and fellow GG students.  Following is a list of students and their project names who will be representing Gretna Green at the District STEM Fair on Tuesday, March 26.
