We would like to remind everyone of our Walking School Bus / Terry Fox Walk that will be taking place this Friday, September 25th at 7:30 am. All parents and students are asked to meet at the Douglastown mall. Come on out and kick off your day with a fresh start and some exercise in support of a great cause!
The students have voted and the results are in! Congratulations to Ava, Cole and Lorynn who were elected as our president, vice president and secretary. Class reps were also selected and they are Kya, Maggie, Keylee, Claire, Nadia, Max Gracie and Michael. Thanks again to Mrs. Morehouse for leading this year's student council once again this year!

Kick Off another awesome year of Youth Night at the Golden Hawk! On Friday, September 18th they will be starting the year off with a Welcome Back Party. Activities will include Bubble Soccer, Inflatable Shooting Range, Open Gym Activities, Swimming, Games Room, and more. Golden Hawk Youth Night is open to youth Grades 5-12, and runs from Sept 18-May 15, on Fridays from 6-9pm.
Our very own Danika (2B) is donating her hair to the Cancer Society on September 25. This is the second time Danika has donated her hair!!! She is hoping to raise money from the cut to help the Miramichi SPCA. Her goal is to raise $300.00. You can sponsor Danika's Cut for Furry Friends at www.gofundme.com/c47yjuwkw. The entire GG learning community is invited to our Open House slated for Tuesday, September 15th at 6:00 pm. We will also have the Big Brothers-Big Sistes Fun Zone set up for everyone to enjoy starting at 5:30 pm. So come on out and meet your teacher and have some fun along the way! PLEASE NOTE: The monthly newsletter stated our Open House will begin at 6:30 ... this has changed to 6:00 pm.
Renée Murphy from Miramichi Mango formally presented the Go For 42 Trophy to Gretna Green students today accompanied by District health nurse Mrs Darlene MacDonald. Gretna Green has won this trophy for the past three and plans on winning again this year for a fourth consecutive year!
The entire learning community of Gretna Green would like to thank our Miramichi Big Brothers / Big Sisters generous donation that was announced today! Our Home & School breakfast program is now being sponsored by this wonderful organization. This will allow us to conentrate our fundraising efforts on new playground account for our school. Thank you so much for this generous offer Big Brother / Big Sisters; it will allow so many of our students to start their day on the right foot!!!
Welcome back everyone and we look forward to seeing all of our grade 1-5 students on Wednesday, September 9th. Of course our kindergarten students will follow the staggered entry schedule on both Wednesday and Thursday. Our entire staff have been busy getting our school ready for you following our summer renovations. Our awesome school has received a new facelift in many of our upstairs classrooms and things look great! Remember, our cafeteria and breakfast program will begin on Monday, September 14th.
