Welcome to First Grade!!!                            

Welcome parents of first graders!  I am so excited that I get to be your child’s teacher this year.  Your child will learn many new things this year and we will have lots of fun along the way.

A folder will be sent home beginning today and expected to be returned each day as this is our primary way to communicate with our families.  There are important forms I need parents to fill out and turn in as soon as possible.   Be sure to check your child’s home folder daily and our website weekly.  I will have important notes and documents on both.

Homework is a great way to reinforce skills as well as keep you updated with what we are learning in class.  Starting next week, homework will be sent home each Monday to be returned to school by Friday.   It is important that your child is practicing skills such as counting to 10, writing numbers to 10, saying the alphabet and saying the letter sounds.

You are invited to phone or email any time that you have a question concerning your child's progress.  I will also keep you informed by sending weekly homework information.
