Just a little note that their is a error/typo for le mot "etre" in the list for les mots de la semaine.  The correct spelling is être.

Hope that you and your family is having a great weekend and that everyone is doing well.  I would love to see pictures, or short videos, of what your child has been doing to keep busy. You can email those to me and I will make sure to post them on this teacher page.  It is a great way for students to see their classmates.

 Just a little reminder. In the reading website "Je lis, je lis" Don't forget to click the green square in the bottow right hand corner of the book when you are finish reading. This will help me track how many book that your child has read and it will also let me know when you need new books.

I have been thinking about all of you for the past few weeks during this difficult time. I hope you and your family are doing well.  As indicated, from previous phone calls, home learning will begin today, April 6, 2020.  I am looking forward to communicate with all of you via my teacher page, email and weekly phone calls.  I would love to see pictures, or short videos, of what your child has been doing to keep busy.  You can email those to me and I will make sure to post them on this teacher page.  It is a great way for students to see their classmates.

Below you will find a list of activities (both online and offline) that you may use to support your child while they continue to learn from home. If something is too difficult, students can move on to something else.  The times are a guideline. Ex: If your child wants to continue, the activity for a longer time that is ok! If your child does Reflex 2 times in one week instead of 3, that is also ok

Choose one or two of these activity per day

 

Literacy 20 minutes per day

 

French vocabulary/oral speaking

 

Ø  Students can listen to songs/videos in French that will help learn new vocabulary. This week we will work on fruits.

Word Work

 

 

 

Ø  Word of the week: (sont,peux,viens,donner,dort,vont)  see video

Ø  Make cards and place throughout the house with words that your child is learning in school.(Ex. la, le,un une, maman, papa, voici, j’aime, je, je vois, petit)  Each time your child finds one, he or she can read it, say the letters, try it out in a sentence and write it. Challenge your child to find 5 cards per day.( words are in homework duotang mots de la semaine)

Ø  Make letters or words using playdough or macaroni, or objects found around the house

Ø  Students can listen to the short video of the sound of the week. I will post a new video each week. The sound for this week is Brigitte baleine. Your child may also want to review song already taught.

Ø  Write a sentence then draw a picture. use  words from the high frequency list  for example:

Ø  Card games: Go fish, Memory, Old Maid. 

Ø   Counting: Household objects (ex. utensils, plates, cups when setting the table), Toys (teddies, Lego, blocks, cars, etc.)

Ø   Sorting objects: by color, size, and shape. (organizing toys would be a great way to practice sorting)

Ø  Grades 1: grouping small objects (20-100) in groups of 10, 5, 2.

Ø  Adding and subtracting up t0 18 ( eg: 5+9=14 , 10-4=6)

In math this week, we will , we will be working on  Reciting the number sequence forward by 1s from 0-60,Comparing two given sets (up to 20) and court by 2,  up to 20, court by 5, 10 up to 50.

In French Language Arts, we will continue to work on the following oral structures:

Comment s’appelle ton ami€?

Quel âge a ton ami(e)?

Comment est ton ami€?

J’aime mon ami€ parce que…

We will also learn Christmas vocabulary and reviewing all of the sounds taught up till now.  A,i. e. o, è,é, ou , on and an.

Library day for this week will be on Thursday.  Please make sure that your child brings back their books on that day.

Homework is a great way to reinforce skills as well as keep you updated with what we are learning in class.  This week, homework will be sent home on Tuesday to be returned to school by Friday.   

Students are encourage to read every night the book to be read this week will be que fait un bon ami?  A math sheet is will also be sent home page 34 “les nombre jusqu’a 20.” Spelling of the week. ( Il, elle, est, dans, aime ans)

Our Christmas concert will be held on Thursday, December 14th @ 10:00 am.

Christmas drama production will be Tuesday, December 5th @ 6:00 pm.

Please be sure to check your child’s binder daily and our website weekly.  I will have important notes and documents on both.

In math this week, we will continue to work on patterns, counting backward to 10, and sorting items based on color, shape or size. 

In French Language Arts, we will continue to work on the following oral structures:

Ma maman a 22 ans, elle a les cheveux bruns et les yeux bleus.

We will also learn Halloween vocabulary and working on the sound “ è”

Library day for this week will be on Thursday.  Please make sure that your child brings back their books on that day.
