Language Arts: Read the "Halloween at home" reading comprehension and answer the questions.   Read 20 minutes each night. Remember that you need to have completed 2 AR quizzes by Monday of next week.   Finish your good copies of your Halloween stories tonight. We will be reading them to our reading buddies tomorrow. :)   Math: Complete page 24-25, Questions 2, 5, 6, 8, and 9 tonight. We will correct them tomorrow.   Study your multiplication facts. We will be reviewing facts 1-8 on Friday.   French: * Remember to bring your family photo in to put on your family tree. Also, anyone who has a french book, remember to practice reading it and we will read it in class on Thursday.   It is going to be a busy and spoooky Halloween week here at Gretna Green! :D

Math: Practice your multiplication facts 1-8  2 AR quizzes need to be completed by October 31st.  Complete chapter summaries for "Castle Diaries" up to June 9th.  Book Orders are due tomorrow

Math:  Create your own 8 equation cards with matching sentence cards on blank paper. They should be similiar to the cards on Page 20.     Language Arts: * We are starting our accelerated reader quizzes for our chapter books. Students are to complete 2 AR quizzes by the end of October. Students will be marked on this, so please remember to read 20 minutes each night.   *Work on your calendar summaries for the "Castle Diary" up until June 9th for Thursday.   French: Remember to bring in a family photo or photo's of your close family (ie. Mother, Father, Sister, brother) for tomorrow to work on our " Ma famille proche" project.   We will be going to the Book Fair tomorrow morning.

Math: Complete hand-out on Lesson on Variables in purple homework book. Get Quiz signed and return.   Language Arts: Write paragraph on reading response: "Retell a main event within the story you are reading"   * We are starting our accelerated reader quizzes for our chapter books. Students are to complete 2 AR quizzes by the end of October. Students will be marked on this, so please remember to read 20 minutes each night.   Science: We are working on friction experiements in the classroom in Science. I am very impressed at how well the groups worked together today on their ramp building. Great job everyone!   French: Remember to bring in a family photo or photo's of your close family (ie. Mother, Father, Sister, brother) for tomorrow to work on our " Ma famille proche" project.   The Book Fair is taking place this week! Wehoo!  We will be going on Wednesday, so if you wish to buy a book, you may do so on Wednesday.   Reminder to students: If you are staying after school for extra-curricular activities, remember to make arrangements at home for drives, or in case of weather issues, call home during recess times.

Math: Page 11-12, questions 1,2,3,6 Math quiz tomorrow 1-8 facts   French: Remember to bring a family picture in for your family tree, or a picture of your family members   Language Arts: Read 20 minutes each night. Draft copies of Halloween Mystery story are due tomorrow. We will be editing them on Monday.

Math:  Study multiplication facts x8 (Quiz on Friday) Get Tests signed and return.   Science: We will be going over the science experiments on "Force" in class. Please have your work sheets completed.   Language Arts: Complete your word work story with your "October words" by tomorrow Also, complete your Graphic organizer "web" and draft copy of your "Halloween Mystery" story by Friday We will be editing our stories and writing our final copies next week.   Read 20 minutes and log in books   * Please send in any mouth wash permission forms by Friday if you haven't already done so. Thank you!   * I will be sending the October book orders out by Thursday, October 20th. Please send any book orders in by then, so I can place the order. Thanks!

Math: Get math quiz signed and return tomorrow Unit 1- Patterns & Equations: Complete questions 1-6 on Page 8   Science: Complete hand-outs on Force for Thursday. Draw a picture of someone playing a sport, ie:hockey, tennis, soccer. Label the different types of push and pull motions. Remember to write a caption under your drawing.   Answer questions on types of motion using a ball, somersault, and skip rope on 2nd hand-out.     Read 20 minutes and log your reading.

Math: Mental Math Quiz tomorrow. Study facts to 7   Read 20 minutes and log your reading.   Language Arts: Writing piece is due tomorrow on "Super Me".   French: We will be finishing our pod casts tomorrow. Call a friend tonight if you would like to practice your phone conversations.   Reminder: The Thanksgiving day meal will be the only one sold in the cafeteria tomorrow. Here are the guidelines for the Art contest.It is through the Fundy Model Forest Network. There are some great prizes and you can use any medium for your art piece. :)   We will be doing this in Art class this month, but feel free to work on it at home as well.

Math: Unit test tomorrow (Thursday)   Study your multiplication facts up to X7    Social Studies: Complete your Castle Diaries summaries up to April for tomorrow.    French: Remember to phone 3 friends en francais tonight and have a conversation.   Congratulations to Julie Martin & Kamryn Morehouse for being Principal and Vice-principal for a day today! You did a fantastic job girls!!    * Thanksgiving Dinner tickets and money ($4.80) need to be back by Thursday if you are ordering. :)

Math: Finish your Math Review on page 66-67 Questions # 6,8,10 & 13 Study your facts to 7 Math Unit test on Thursday   Read 20 minutes each night. Log your reading on your sheet. Please complete your "super me" writing piece for Friday.   French: Call 3 of your friends from your "Carnet d'adresses" that you created in class. Remember to ask them questions in french such as: Comment ça va?  Quel est ton adresse? Quel est ton numéro de téléphone?   En quelle année es-tu?   Reminders: No breakfast program on Wednesday morning, October 5. There will be a Thanksgiving day dinner on Friday. Cost is $4.80. No other meals will be sold that day. Tickets will be sent home tomorrow for anyone wanting to order dinner. Please return them back on Thursday.   -Miss. Hitchman

There will be a Unit test on whole numbers on Thursday. Study fact to 7 this week   Writing: Complete writing assignment on "Super Me" for Friday. Remember to use compound sentences, and use conjunction words such as; and, so, or, but.

Good day everyone. Here is your homework for tonight, and also a few reminders and special news!   Math: Complete Page 62 Questions 1-2 Quiz on facts tomorrow.   Read 20 minutes tonight. Reading Comprehension sheets are due tomorrow.   Spelling test tomorrow. Study your September words.   *Please make sure to have your weekly logs back to me signed each Monday, so that I can send them home to you on Friday. *   Special News We will be having a Geo Cashing Session tomorrow after lunch! Both grade 5 classes will be doing this together!   Also, I would like to congratulate Julie Martin for winning "Principal for a day" draw that took place this week!
