Spelling: Spelling test on Friday. Remember to practice your September words.
Francais: Complete your "Mon numéro de téléphone est....." sheet for homework.
Read for 20 minutes and respond to the reading comprehension sheet in your homework book. (Due Friday)

Study multiplication facts up to 6. Timed quiz on Friday.
Language Arts: Read 20 minutes each night and log it in your homework books
Science: Complete Roller Coaster designs and remember to include atleast three types of motion.Also find one
cool fact about roller coasters to share with the class.
If you have peer helper forms, please return them to the school by tomorrow.
Wednesday: We will be having the Terry Fox walk @ 1:30. We are still collecting spare change and $1.00 will get your name in for a draw for "Principal for a day"!
Friday: "Walking School Bus" Meet at the Northumberland Square Mall with your parent and join us for a walk to
school. It will be leaving at 7:30am.

Our class is working on the Medieval period, and for the past week, students were bringing in things that they think
time travelers of the future may find different in 50 years from now. We were able to bury the time capsule today and
it will hopefully be discovered in 2061! :)
Way to go Grade 5H! What a great group effort!

Science: We are working on Motion. Please find 20 things around your house that move or could be moved. Please write the different ways they can move. Due on Monday
We will be burying our Time Capsule outside tomorrow. If you have anything else you would like to put in it, please bring it in tomorrow. :)
Health: Please complete your food journals for the week and bring them in tomorrow.

Remember to record in your health journal every day for this week.
Complete "Text a Teacher" summary for Friday. Read out of your chapter book and summarize in short, consise sentences what happened in that chapter. Remember to use full sentences and words.
Read 20 minutes each night and record it in your reading log.

Welcome back to grade 5 everyone! I am so excited to be back at Gretna Green this year! It was so nice to see so many familiar faces last week! Our first week flew right by, I hope you all had a great week back. Just a few important notes to remember, I will be sending a weekly log home at the end of every week. This is a communication log between home and school and to let you know how your child is doing each week. Please return it each Monday. Reminders: Thursday night is "Meet the teacher dessert delight" night @ 6:30. Friday: Picture day! Can't wait to see everyone dressed in their best! I sent home the book orders for September, please return them by Friday, September 23th. Have a great week! Miss. Hitchman :)

I just wanted to thank all my students and parents for such a great and memorable year!
I had an amazing year teaching grade 4, and at the bottom of my heart, I thank you! I hope you
all have a fantastic and safe summer and hopefully I will see you again soon! I will miss you all very much!

Just a reminder about our field trip to the Miramichi Nature Park tomorrow (Thursday)!
Please remember to bring a change of clothes, a bag lunch, drinks and sunscreen.
Dress for the weather, as if could be rain or shine! Also, please wear long shirts and pants as we will be outdoors.
This is a great trip for the grade 4 students! I hope we all have fun, as there is a lot to learn about our wetlands!

Book and movie Critic reviews are due Friday, June 10th if they are not already passed in. This will be the last of homework sent home for the month of June. As discussed in class, there will be no more homework for students for the remaining days of school, although students are encouraged to read 20 mins each night. It is also encouraged to read throughout the summer to keep your reading up! :)
There will be a June spelling test to finish off the year. All words should be a review for the students from previous tests. This will be on Tuesday, June 21st. I am sure everyone will do great!
