Miramichi Hoops will be offering spring leagues for players currently in grades 3-5 starting the week of March 27.  Spring league for the girls will begin on March 28th at 6 PM at Gretna Green. The boys will begin on Thursday March 30th at 6:30 PM also at Gretna Green. Spring league will run for six sessions into the first week in May.  There is no cost for spring league for any players currently registered with Miramichi Hoops. There is a $20 fee for any new players not currently regsitered. Denis Lirette the president of Miramichi Hoops commented " spring leagues will focus on fundamental skills, games and the kids having fun. Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd at 2:30 for any Middle School girls interested in playing Varsity or Junior Varsity volleyball this year. We are in need of a few more coaches so if your interested in helping out please let Mr. Comeau or Mr. Ryan know.

The grade 4/5 Girls basketball game that was scheduled for Wednesday, February 1^st will now be played on Monday, January 30^th at 3:45 at Gretna Green.  Players are to go home after school and return for 3:30

There will still be practice on Wednesday, February 1^st

To help promote Physical Literacy at GG. Mr. Ryan will be creating a Physical Activity Mural outside of our gym.  We are looking for any pictures of students or their families being physically active outside of school.  You can send a picture in with your child or email one to Mr. Ryan and he will print it out and add it to our board.  Please include names and activity with the picture(s)

Miramichi Hoops Small Ball program will begin this Saturday Nov 5th at 2pm. This year, small ball will take place at Gretna Green School. The program is for both boys and girls in grades K, 1 and 2.  It runs once a week, every Saturdays from 2pm to 3pm. Small Ball is a developmental program focusing on skills and games to introduce the kids to the game of basketball.
Registration will take place at the start of the 1st practice on November 5th. Cost for registration is $50. Family rates are available with full rates applied to the oldest child and half price for each sibling thereafter.

Mr. Ryan is looking for anybody that is interested in coaching Gretna Green basketball this year.  We are in need of coaches for 4/5 girls and Middle School Boys Varsity.  4/5 and Middle School level runs from December to March Break.
