The 4/5 boys won their second game of the season yesterday against Croft.  It was a great all around game from the boys. The boys will next game will be on January 11th at home against Croft.

The Bobcats defeated the Wolves in the first game of Newcomball on Tuesday by a score of 16-15.  The Grizzlies will be playing the Eagles on Thursday at Recess.  Team list and a schedule is available in the Documents list.

The boys' and girls' basketball teams each had a game this week at home.  The boys had a hard fought win against Harkins while the girls had a strong effort in a lost to Croft.  Both teams will be playing again next week.  The boys will be traveling to Croft on Monday and the girls game will be announced shortly.

We will be beginning Intramural Sports for grades 3, 4 and 5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at recess starting December 1st.  Our first sport will be Newcomball.  Game schedules and results will be posted on the Gretna Green Sports page every week.

Basketball at Gretna Green will be starting the week of November 16th.  Our grade 4/5 teams will play against other schools in our District throughout the 8 week season.  Grade 2/3 teams will only have practices after school to build their skills.  The practice schedule for all teams is as follows:   Monday -        Boys Grade 4-5         Tuesday -       Girls Grade 4-5 Wednesday -  Girls Grade 2-3 Thursday -       Boys Grade 2-3   Practices will run from 2:30 to 4:00.  Thank you for being prompt in picking up your child.

The soccer jamboree that was to take place Saturday, October 24th at Gretna Green will be postponed until May because of the weather.  There is still 5cm+ of snow on the field and this makes for unsafe conditions for the players.  More information on the rescheduled date for the jamboree will be sent out in May.

Zachary Galley and Zachary Miersch each had a goal while Zachary Newman had a pair of goals as the Gretna Green soccer team remained undefeated with a 4-1 win over Napan.  Both team Gold and Green had a perfect season going a combined 5-0.  The teams now have a much deserved break before the end of the year Jamboree where Gretna Green will look to defend their title from last year.  Congratulations to all players on a great season!

Our Gretna Green girls won the team trophy for the Nelson Meet and the England's Hollow Meet.  The boys also had a successful meet winning the team trophy at England's Hollow.  Congratulations to all our runners!  The final meet of the season is next Wednesday at French Fort Cove.  Good luck!
