In Math, we finished up our multiplication and division unit and we are now
working on geometry. Students are learning about polygons and 3D objects:
pyramids, prisms and others (cone, sphere .cylinder). Students will describe
these objects by determining how many faces, edges and vertices they have. Please
continue to review math facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication and
division.
We began our last science unit on Plants and soil. Students will learn the
parts of a plant and the life cycle of a plant.
Don’t forget that we will be going to Kouchibouguac on Friday for our end
of the year field trip! Parents are welcome to join us at the Kouchibouguac Park. We will be there around 9:45!

In Language Arts
and Science, we will wrap up our unit on Structures and Material. Students learned about buildings, building
materials and foundations. They also
learned what we must do to build a solid and stable structure. Students will build their own stable structure tomorrow
by using newspapers and masking tape. They have been looking forward to doing
so!
In math, we will be completing our unit on
Fractions. Students learned how to name, identify and represent
equal parts. They can also name
fractions of a whole. We will be starting our Multiplication and
Division Unit at the end of this week. Please continue to practice times tables with
your child up to 5X5. Students can also practice by using the math websites
that I posted on our class webpage.
