This week, we will discuss family as our theme. The sound ch will also be highlighted. A "ch" sheet has also been placed in your child(s) reading bag to practice throughout the week. New books have also been rehearsed and placed in their bags as well. Please have your child write down the name of the book they have read each night on their tracking sheet.  Madame France will be assisting me throughout the week with Audacity. So far, she was able to record 4 students reading. Once everyone has had a chance to be recorded reading their book, I will post them on my page. Stay tuned :) Show and Tell a.k.a Montre et Reconte will begin on Thursday (Nov 1st), 1 student/day will be asked to bring in an item (no animals please) and present to their peers. They have been instructed what to say/do i.e. "Voici mon..., il a x ans, elle est petite, etc. Reinforcing what we have learned thus far. The list of presenters will be in alphbetical order. We will begin with Melissa Binedell, Megan Brennan, etc. If they happen to forget their item, then they will have to wait their turn. Learning responsibility :) In math, we will focus on some new terms and skip couting by 5, 10, 25 and 100. We simply ran out of time last week. We will also utlize money to count. Friday, we will review what we have learned to date. Next week, we will focus on estimations. Potential in class math quiz next Friday, if we cover all the material. Wednesday's after school drama has been postponed due to Halloween. Refer to GG website for other upcoming events being held this week. It is going to be a "busier than usual" kinda of week.

Today in class, I demonstrated to student how to use a computer recording program called Audacity. Starting Monday, students will be able to record audio files of themselves reading a book in class. They will then be able to play the files back to themselves. We will continue practicing with the program tomorrow in class. Once every student has had a chance to record and save their own, I will paste them on my teacher page.
