This Week in GG4SS - April 4 - 8

We have a 5 day week of school ahead of us and lots of fun too!*Drama continues this week. We will have to check April's schedule for dates and times.*We will be having our school STEM Fair on Friday. You will need to have all of your materials for your STEM fair project at school on Tuesday. This includes your poster board.*Remember to pack extra socks inyour book bag in case your feet get wet when your are outside.Language Arts - This week we will be working on the Writing Trait of Sentence Fluency.Math - We will be working dividing larger numbers and reviewing multiplication with large numbers.Social Studies - We will be working on our province and territory projects.Science - We will be working on our STEM fair projects in preparation for Friday's Stem Fair. Let's have another Superstar Week!

This Week in GG4SS - March 29 - March 31

Welcome back to another short week in GG4SS! *There is NO SCHOOL on Friday this week due to Parent-Teacher interviews. Parent-teacher interviews will also take place Thursday night.*Reports cards go home Tuesday.*Remind your parents that the new entrance to Gretna Green is open and that is the entrance they should use to come in to the building.*Tuesday is the beginning of our Home and School Fundraiser. Tickets on a ulitily trailer will be going home with everyone this week.*Drama will take place this week on Tuesday and Thursday. Check your schedule for your times.Language Arts - This week we will be finishing our work with paragraphing.Math - We will be learning how to multiply with three digit numbersSocial Studies - We will continue working on our Canadian Provinces projects.Science - We will be starting our STEM Fair projects in preparation for our school STEM Fair that willbe held on April 8.Let's have another Superstar week!

Happy Easter Week!! *There will be an Easter Basket Draw this week. Tickets will go on sale at noon hour for . 25 a guess.*A reminder that there is NO School on Friday this week due to Good Friday and next Monday due to Easter Monday.*The scholastic book fair will take place this week. Our class will visit the book fair on Tuesday at 11:00 and Wednesday at 9:00. Drama continues this week on Monday. Check your schedule for your practice times.Language Arts - This week we will continue to work on paragraphing and the writing trait of organization.Math - We will be looking at other strategies for multiplying large numbers.Social Studies - We will be continuing with our projects on Canada. Let's have another Superstar week.

This Week in GG4SS - March 14 - 18

Welcome back to another great week at GG. I hope everyone enjoyed their March Break. I can't wait to hear all about your adventures.*Drama continues this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Check the schedule for your times.*Thursday is St. Patrick's Day. Wear your Green, Orange and White to celebrate!*Remember to continue dressing for the weather. Some days will still be cold outside. Also, remember to put an extra pair of socks in your bookbag in case your socks get wet at noon.Language Arts - This week we will be learning about paragraphing.Math - We will continue to work on Multiplying large numbers.Science - We will finish our last lesson for Light and Sound.Social Studies - We will be starting a unit on Canada and Its' Features.Let's have another Superstar Week.

This Week in GG4SS - February 29 - March 5

This week is Student Appreciation week!! It is our turn to let you know how much we appreciate the awesome students we have at Gretna Green. *There will be NO HOMEWORK this week to show our appreciation. Also, on Monday, there will be an extra long recess. *Survivor starts on Monday in the gym and will run through to Wednesday afternoon. Good luck Grade 5! *Tuesday is Twin Day - find a friend or two or three and dress the same colors or outfits. *Wednesday - PJ Day - the best day ever!! Roll out of bed and come dressed as you are. *Thursday - Green and Gold Day - show your school spirit by wearing your school colors. *Friday - monthly award assembly. Boys Basketball - Last week's Jamboree has been re-scheduled to this Thursday.There is a home game Monday afterschool against Croft. Game time is 4:00. Girl's Basketball - Also the Alumini game is re-scheduled to this Wednesday. Drama continues this week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Check your schedule for times. Language Arts - This week we will be working on paragraphing. Math - We will continue to work on Multiplying large numbers. Our subscription to Reflex has been extended. Our goal is to have everyone 100% fluent! Science - We are going to finish our unit on Light and Sound. Let's have another Superstar week!

Check your schedule for your times.*Boy's Basketball - The boys have an away game at Croft on Monday. Game time is 4:00.Girl's Basketball - The girls will have an Alumni game on Wednesday from 4:00 - 5:30. Language Arts - This week we will continue to work on the Writing Trait of Word Choice.Math - We are going to start a new unit on Multiplying and Dividing Large numbers.Science - This week we will conduct another experiment on Light. Let's have another Superstar week.
