This Week in GG4SS - December 2 -6

It is Christmas Concert week at GG. Lots of fun and excitement ahead of us and only 3 more weeks until Christmas holidays! * Drama practice for all on Monday and Tuesday afterschool. *There will be a dress rehearsal for our Christmas concert on Monday morning. * Our Christmas Concert will take place on Wednesday. There will be two performances, one at 10:00 and the other at 12:30. * Friday we will be going to Carrefour Beausoliel for a French performance.* The Annual Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Saturday from 10:00-2:00 Language Arts - This week we will continue to work on the writing trait of Word Choice. We will also be looking at more vowel sounds.Math - We will continue with our new unit on Patterns and Equations.Social Studies - We will begin our Biographies on a Canadian Explorer.Health- We will be learning about Habit number 6 and 7 for a happy kid. Let's have another superstar week!!

Star Student of the Week!!

This week's star student was Tyra! Tyra was born on November 10 and is 9 years old. Her favorite subject on school is Science. She loves to ear Pixie Sticks and Ice Cream cake..yum! Her favorite colors are pink and purple.She loves dogs and she loves that fact that she is unique!

This Week in GG4SS - November 18 - 21

We have a 4 days week ahead of us. There is NO SCHOOL on Friday due to Parent-Teacher Interviews.* Reports cards go home on Monday* The Scholastic Book Fair is open all week. We are signed up to go on Tuesday and Wednesday.* Christmas Song practice will continue this week.* Drama continues this week. Language Arts - This week we will be looking at the Writing Trait of Ideas. We will also be studying our spelling words and looking how to make words plural.Math - We are going to finish our Unit on Data Analysis this week.Social Studies - We will be starting our Unit on Exploration.Health - We will be looking at Habit #2 of a Happy Kid. Let's have another Superstar Week!

Extreme Collaboration

On Thursday, November 14th students from Mrs. Simmons Grade 4 class tested out SMART Extreme Collaboration for the first time. It was used as part of a Math class on Data Management and everyone had a great time!

Our 3rd Mystery Skype

We had our 3rd Mystery Skype on Tuesday but our wireless connection dropped before we could locate each other. We are going to re-connect with them on Thursday again to see if we can find their location. They have narrowed us down to New Brunswick.

We Reached Our Goal!!

In September we set the goal of reading 100 books as a class. We estimated how long it would take us to finish reading all 100. A few of us were correct with our estimates! We are going to celebrate on Friday by having a 100 Book celebration and a PIZZA PARTY!!!

Star Student of the Week!!

This week's Star Student is Shahd. Shahd was born on February 22 and she is 9 years old! Her Favorite thing to do at school is "Daily 5". She loves pizza and the color purple. Shahd's favorite animal is a rabbit. She loves her own hair color. It is a very beautiful color!

Only 6 more weeks until Christmas hoildays! Lots to look forward to!*We have our 3rd Mystery Skype this week on Tuesday morning*We will be starting to practice our song for the Christmas Concert. Our Christmas Concert is earlier this year. It will be December 4th.*Friday is School Spirit day,,,wear your Green and Gold *We are getting very close to reading 100 books and having our 100 BOOKS celebration!Language Arts - This week we will be looking at the Writing Trait of Word ChoiceMath - We have our Unit Test for Numbers to 10 000 on Tuesday and they we will begin our Unit on Data Analysis.Health - We are going to be reading the book "7 Habits on Happy Kids" and completing activites to go along with it. Let's have another Superstar week!
