This morning we had our second Mystery Skype. This is a video conference with another class around the world and we try to guess their location. They also try to guess our location. We won!! We narrowed down their location first to Toronto, Ontario!. Way to go Super stars!

We have another exciting week ahead of us!!
*Basketball continues for Grade 2/3. The girls go on Wednesday from 2:30-3:30 and the boys go on Thursday at the same time.
* We are going to skate on our outdoor rink on Friday afternoon from 12:45 - 1:45. (weather permitting) Remember your helmets!!
* We have two Mystery Skypes this week!! One on Tuesday morning and one on Thursday afternoon! This is a great opportunity to practice our Geography!!
* Baby Elena will be visiting on Thursday morning to help us continue with our Unit on Feelings in Roots of Empathy!
Language Arts - We will continue to work on the writing Trait of Organization by learning new ways to begin our stories!
Math - We will start Lesson 3 on Equations
Art - We will have an Art Lesson on Feelings on Monday afternoon!
Social Studies - We will continue to learn about our province of New Brunswick!
I would like to officially welcome our Student Intern, Ms. Morgan Ullock. Morgan will be learning and teaching along side us until late April! Welcome Ms. Ullock!

Our first full week of school for 2013!!! Yeah!!!
* Basketball starts this week for any students in Grade 2 and 3 that want to join. The girl's program is on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30. The boy's program is on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30.
* Book Orders are due back this Friday, January 18.
* Crazy Sock Hop - The Student Council has a Sock Hop planned for recess time. Where your crazy socks and get ready to dance!
* Skating - As soon as our rink is ready we will be going outside as a class to skate,
Language Arts - We are working on a good Introducation in writing. We will also start our regular rotation of the Daily 5.
Math - We will continue to practice our Doubles and will be review Fact Families!
Social Studies - We will be learning about Rural and Urban areas of New Brunswick.
