The first full week in February!  Only 4 more weeks until March Break!!  * Skating -  Friday, February 8 from 12:45- 1:45. Hopefully the weather will co-operate this week and will be able to skate!  * Basketball continues afterschool on Wednesday and Thursday.   Language Arts - Starting this week you will have more choice in your activities during Daily 5.  We will also continue with the Trait of Organization and will start looking at Word Choice as well! Math - This week we will be adding and subtracting with double digits! Social Studies - We will be continuing to learn about the people of New Brunswick! It is going to be another Superstar Week!!

 Unfortunately we have cancel our plans to skate again this week due to the weather and our school assembly.  We will re-schedule next week.

 This is the last week of January!!  Time is flying by for our Superstars!!  * We are going to skate this week on Friday from 12:45-1:45 Hopefully the weather will co-operate this week!  * Basketball for girls and boys continue this week afterschool on Wednesday and Thursday!  * Book Orders are due this Friday, February 1st!  * We have Roots of Empathy on Thursday afternoon.  * Our choir members will be singing the National Athem at the Pond Hockey Tournament this weekend!  Good luck to Bethany, Tyra, Emma and Keylee!   Language Arts - We are still working on the writing trait of Organization and we will continue to look at how to make proper sentence! Math - We are going to be learning how to Estimate this week! Social Studies - We are going to record our "Greeting From Around the World" on the green screen this week and we will begin to learn about the Cultural Diversity in New Brunswick! Let's have another Superstar week!

 To finish our Science unit on Soils, we created "Soil Peeps". We put soil and grass seed in nylons and decorated them to make them our own.  We have them in our classroom in a spot that gets lots of sun.  We also water them often.  After only two weeks they have started to sprout hair.  Some of them have hair that is 4 cm long!  The ones that have the humus soil seem to be growing the best. The ones that have soil made of more rock and sand only have a few sprouts!
