Homework:
Math- Relating Multiplication and Division : Lesson 8 - Remember to use arrays to help you find the
multiplication and division equations.
Practice your 10x tables.Ex: 10 x 0, 10 x 1, 10 x 2
Literacy: Read atleast 15 minutes each night
Painting Word Pictures Handout: Read the "Mud Fights" poem, to help you paint a picture in your mind about
what you can SEE, HEAR, TOUCH, TASTE and SMELL. Look over the Chart. Read story "Cleaning the Garage" and
fill in the empty chart for that story. What do you see, hear, touch, taste and smell in the story? Write your
own story about a chore you would rather not do, or perhaps having a really fun time with a friend. Use your own
chart to help in your "prewriting". Story should be atleast 5 sentences.
Spelling test: The February word spelling test will be on Monday, February 28th.
Have a great week Grade 4!

Happy Valentine's day! I hope everyone had a great day yesterday! There were many
students and teachers wearing lots of red, pink and white!
Homework for this week: Math: We are working on Division and using Arrays to divide.
Study your 9x facts.
Writing: Revise the paragraph about "lions" which is in bold. Use descriptive words in the phrases
to replace dull words. The writing focuses on word choice which is what we are working on in class right now.
For an example, if it says "The female lion hunts for food and brings it back to her cubs and the male lion." It could
be changed to "The female lion sneaks up to her prey and brings dinner back to feed her family."
Read for 15 minutes each night.
Congratulations to Lauren Simmons who won gold at her basketball tournament over the weekend! Good job Lauren!
CUTE awards are also on Wednesday night at 6:15 at JMH, all welcome!
The Hackmatack Book Club is on Wednesday afternoon, please remember to bring your library card!
Happy National Flag Day!
