We have been learning about odd and even numbers.  We know that even numbers can be divided evenly into groups of two. Numbers that end in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 are even.  Odd numbers can NOT be divided evenly into groups of two.  There is always someone left out.  Numbers that end in 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 are odd.  Take a moment to listen to our cheer that helps us remember which numbers are even and which are odd.

It's Halloween week at Gretna Green!  There are a lot of fun activities planned for the week.  Monday we will be decorating a class pumpkin.  Tuesday is spooky story day.  We will be sharing our Halloween stories that we wrote with our Grade 5 buddies. We will also Skype with our pen pals.  There is no school on Wednesday due to curriculum meetings for teachers.  Thursday is orange and black day.  Bring your cosutmes to school on Friday for the parade of costumes and wrap the teacher contest.  Don't wear your costume to school. You will able to change into it after lunch.

We planted the tulips on the frontway of Gretna Green Elementary. We planted them on Wednesday at 1:00 and some daffodils too. When some people were done, the grade 3's came out and checked their plants in their squares. We planted the daffodils around the pole of the Canadian flag.                                     Sincerely,                                     Miss MacTavish and Miss Hutchison Levy                                                                       (Drew and Mia)
